Cosmetics.....A Little Takes You a Long Way

As I mentioned yesterday, I got into the habit of not worrying what I look like when I leave the house.  I mean, who cares, right?!  WRONG!  I've been looking at it all wrong for soooo long!  It's not about what others think, it's what I think!  *LIGHTBULB*

I mean, you don't need to get dolled up like your wedding day....a little product will take you a long way!

Now that I'm in the beauty business, it's important that I be my own best customer.  All of my makeup has been transitioned over to L'Bel.  I cleanse/tone and moisturize with L'Bel.  I use L'Bel body lotion when I get out of the shower, followed by L'Bel fragrances and even L'Bel shampoo, conditioner and deep conditioner for my hair.

Heck, I've even got my husband using our men's facial soap and after shave lotion (which is the masculine way to say moisturizer - kinda like action figures and not dolls).  When I say we have products for everyone.....I'm not kidding.

There are some days though when I have to leave the house unexpectedly and I don't have time for my regular full-face of makeup.  I've recently resolved to still giving it a little bit of effort instead of walking outside with a nekkid face.

So, the other day, before running out to do whatever it is that I had to do then but can't remember now, I grabbed my cell phone and snapped a half-face picture of myself to prove to you the power of a little product.  In this photo I'm wearing concealer, eyeliner and mascara.  It took me less than 5 minutes and changed my entire look.  What do you think?  I'd love to hear your thoughts....please comment below with your feedback.

Ignore the goofy grin.  It's hard to smile when no one tells you to "say cheese".

  1. This is SO true! I have the same feelings sometimes... "why does it matter?" But when you are in business, and part of that business is meeting people, you do need to look presentable! I love your look here, and it does look effortless, but nice. What do you recommend as far as pencil liners (not liquid) for eyes? I'm looking for something that would create a smoky look. However, I have trouble with most pencils not showing up at ALL on me. It's made me have to go to liquid. Sometimes I don't want the lines looking that sharp, though. Any tips?

    1. Jess, great comment! The eyeliner I'm wearing in this pic is one of my new favorite beauty products - Inalterable XP in Noir. This retractable eyeliner pencil is soft to help it go on super smooth, It doesn't smudge and allows you good color without a sharp line - great for the smoky look you're going for.

I would also suggest taking an angled eyeshadow brush and using a dark grey or even black eyeshadow along the edge of your eye before adding your eyeliner. It will really help accentuate the smokiness around the eye.

Please let me know if I can help with anything else. Love the comments!
