Left my home in GA, headed for the Frisco Bay...

Wow.  That's really the only word that can sum up how I feel about the last few days of my life.  On Thursday afternoon, I left Atlanta for a 2-day Leadership Training event in San Francisco at the Belcorp Corporate Offices.  

It was an honor and a privilege to be in the company of such amazing and inspiring women in business.  I learned about new and exciting opportunities and incentives (but am sworn to secrecy about their details), I met some of my incredible L'Bel colleagues from across the country, brushed up on some of my Spanish speaking and toured one of the cities I've always wanted to see.....all in less than 72 hours.

My friend, team leader and Beauty Manager, Jennifer, and I met at the airport before our flight.  We had about two hours to kill and since I'm a nervous fly-er we stopped at Chili's where I could start my afternoon with a cocktail before takeoff.  

This was our view from the restaurant.  Coincidentally, the airplane right next to us was sitting at our gate so we got to watch when our plane pulled up - pretty cool.  

After a 5 hour non-stop flight plus travel time from our seats on the plane to our hotel, it was almost 7:00pm in San Fran.  Seeing as how it was 10:00pm in our heads, we were both exhausted and STARVING.  

Our first stop after checking into our hotel room was to check-in at the restaurant in our hotel for some dinner.  

We weren't really sure what to expect but at that point I would have eaten my shoes so anything was a step up.  What I didn't realize was that I was about to eat one of the best steaks I've ever had in my life.  This picture doesn't nearly do it justice but OH MAN! was it good!  

After that delicious meal, Jennifer and I took a short walk around a couple of blocks. It seemed a waste to go straight to bed, plus we were STUFFED.  But after a few minutes of fresh air and those gorgeous San Francisco hills, we were tuckered and off to bed.  After all, we had a big day ahead.

At 8:20 the next morning, we met our friend and US Director of Field Development, Amanda, in the lobby of our hotel and after a short cab ride we arrived at the Belcorp offices at 101 California Street.  Here are a few pics of our cab ride (those HILLS!!!) and the office.

After our first day of training, we were treated to a delicious dinner at Osha Thai.  I had some delicious Thai Coconut Soup and a dish of various types of seafood in a coconut lime broth called Osha's Sea.  Jennifer had the Volcanic Beef - I loved the orchid garnish on her dish so I snapped a pic of it, too.  Silly tourists.

After dinner, a few of us decided that we wanted to see some of the sites.  So, we went back to the hotel for a quick change into some comfy jeans and walking shoes and then we were off again.  

We called this cable car the "Party Bus".  We had the most fun!

Saturday was filled with more incredible training, discussions and planning.  It was an inspiring day that really got me thinking about the future of my business.  All I have to say is "Brace Yourself, y'all!"  

Saturday night, Jennifer and I went to Fisherman's Wharf and had an awesome dinner.  Then we went shopping and walking around and took a fun cable car ride back to the hotel.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: L'Bel has changed my life.  Never in a million years did I think a company I worked for would fly me to San Francisco to help me better at my job.  And never in a million years did I think I would get that opportunity amongst a group of people I also consider my friends.  

This weekend was an eye opener.  It awakened the Business Beast inside of me.  I've been working since I was 15 years old....and in all of those years I've used my expertise and knowledge to make other people successful.  This time it's my turn.  It's time to make Katie MacAvoy a L'Bellionaire.  I have written proposals, drawn marketing plans and helped create strategies.....it's time to implement that knowledge into my own business.  

It may sound cliche, but I really am the CEO of my own business.  L'Bel is more than a direct sales company.  It's my job.  And one that I finally feel really good about kicking ass at.  Thank you all for supporting me, following my journeys and encouraging me along the way. It means more to me than you will ever know.

Leaving on a Jet Plane...

I mentioned this on Facebook before but if you didn't know this already, I've been selected to be a member on the first ever L'Bel Field Leadership Committee!!  On Thursday, I will get on a plane together with friend and Manager, Jennifer, and fly to the L'Bel Corporate Offices in San Francisco for the weekend!

Cosmetics.....A Little Takes You a Long Way

As I mentioned yesterday, I got into the habit of not worrying what I look like when I leave the house.  I mean, who cares, right?!  WRONG!  I've been looking at it all wrong for soooo long!  It's not about what others think, it's what I think!  *LIGHTBULB*

I mean, you don't need to get dolled up like your wedding day....a little product will take you a long way! 

Now that I'm in the beauty business, it's important that I be my own best customer.  All of my makeup has been transitioned over to L'Bel.  I cleanse/tone and moisturize with L'Bel.  I use L'Bel body lotion when I get out of the shower, followed by L'Bel fragrances and even L'Bel shampoo, conditioner and deep conditioner for my hair. 

Heck, I've even got my husband using our men's facial soap and after shave lotion (which is the masculine way to say moisturizer - kinda like action figures and not dolls).  When I say we have products for everyone.....I'm not kidding.
